Common Faults and Maintenance Methods of Lawn Mowers
Lawn mowers significantly reduce labor in lawn and vegetation trimming, and have become indispensable tools in the era of agricultural and garden mechanization. However, long-term use can lead to various faults. Today, Allian Agri will explain simple maintenance methods for lawn mowers:
Insufficient engine power, poor mowing performance, or even connecting rod breakage: Such issues are mostly related to engine oil. Long-term operation causes impurities to accumulate in the oil, reducing its protective performance and eventually leading to severe engine wear. Therefore, regularly check oil quality and replace it promptly.
Weak power during operation, difficulty moving or cutting: There may be two reasons: ① the mowing blade is excessively worn and needs replacement with a sharp one; ② the lawn is too dense, requiring slower travel speed to reduce equipment load.
Failure to start after winter storage: The main causes may be an empty fuel tank or stale fuel (replace with fresh fuel), or internal dirt in the carburetor (which requires cleaning by professional engine maintenance personnel).
Inability to shut down: This may be due to poor contact of the ignition kill wire. Add a small amount of oil to the throttle moving parts, check if the kill wire is broken, and replace damaged wires promptly.
Excessive vibration: First, try reducing the throttle and choke to check if high speed is the cause. If the problem persists, it may be due to loose spark plugs, loose engine mounting screws, or a bent crankshaft—professional inspection is required.
These are common faults and maintenance methods for lawn mowers. Users are advised to keep them in mind and perform regular daily maintenance.
